Angular cheilitis

Candida albicans

Angular cheilitis or perlèche is multifactorial. Predisposing factors include an edentulous state, debility or dry lips. Candida albicans and/or Staphylococcus aureus may be cultured.

Angular cheilitis is one of the few indications for combined topical antifungal / antibacterial agents.
